APPG for the Ocean hears from National Oceanography Centre and Marine Conservation Society

On the June 15 2022, the APPG for the Ocean held its first meeting since it launched in May. This meeting also saw the launch of the APPG’s first inquiry into Blue Carbon and Ocean-Based Solutions to Climate Change.

Dr Christopher Pearce, from the National Oceanography Centre, and Dr Peter Richardson, from the Marine Conservation Society, gave presentations on the role of blue carbon and ocean-based solutions in combatting climate change. The National Oceanography Centre is a world-leading organisation focused on the research and development of marine science, and Marine Conservation Society is a UK-based organisation working to clean and protect the ocean.
