National Oceanography Centre and The Ocean Cleanup Project present to APPG at briefing on the plastic pollution

The APPG for the Ocean was delighted to welcome Dr Alice Horton, Principle Investigator of Anthropogenic Contaminants at the National Oceanography Centre and Joao Ribeiro-Bidaoui, General Counsel and Director of Global Public Affairs at The Ocean Cleanup Project, to present at the APPG’s private briefing session on the impact of plastic pollution on our oceans.

Given the UK’s long-standing support for responsible ocean policies and leadership in developing initiatives to address the plastics issue, it is more important than ever that we work globally to support the removal of plastics from our oceans, which is having a detrimental impact on marine life and conservation efforts.

Many thanks to all who attended and for the interesting discussion on the importance of ensuring that the ocean is protected against the damaging impacts of plastic pollution.
