National Oceanography Centre and University of Southampton present to APPG at “Reflections on COP27” meeting

The APPG for the Ocean was delighted to welcome Professor Ed Hill CBE, from the National Oceanography Centre, Dr Wassim Dbouk from the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute and Professor Jon Copley, from the University of Southampton, to present their reflections on COP27.

Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP26 held in Glasgow in 2021, COP27, held in Egypt in 2022, marked the first ever Ocean Pavilion featured at COP. This brought together the ocean community to promote the importance of the ocean and the science that underpins its future.

Many thanks to all who attended and for the interesting discussion on the importance of ensuring that the ocean is included in all global climate policy making.
