APPG welcomes Overseas Territories, Climate and Environment Minister to APPG for the Ocean Annual General Meeting

The APPG for the Ocean was delighted to welcome Lord Goldsmith, Minister of State for Overseas Territories, Commonwealth, Energy, Climate and Environment, to the APPG’s Annual General Meeting.

The Minister joined the meeting to provide a short Departmental update on behalf of the Government and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office on the UK policies on the ocean. This was followed by questions from parliamentarians on the Government’s work to ensure the full potential of our oceans is realised.

Many thanks to all who attended, to our re-elected Chair Sally-Ann Hart MP, to all elected and re-elected Vice-Chairs, to the APPG for the Ocean members, and to the Minister Lord Goldsmith for the interesting discussion on the importance of ensuring that the ocean is protected and effectively governed.
